Garter Carriage

Lol! I don't know if this is just me having a blonde moment but am I right in thinking that i can not actually do a true garter stitch on my garter carriage. I wanted to start early this morning knitting a border for a jacket in garter stitch like I would by hand and i can't do it!! Please comment and correct me if i'm wrong but I believe I can only do a moss stitch or a rib...is this true?

New work!

I started last night to make a 'leaf patterned' baby blanket by Coats in hand knitting. Each little square needs 40 different rows of pattern and then after knitting 48 of them...there is the lace frill to do! lol

I'm going to do this as one square at a time and take my time so it doesn't seem such a chore.
Well I have one done! Only 47 to go!!!

Some really pretty braids

This is something I was working on before I had my operation, these braids are so pretty I have decided to upload them allthough I only have the instructions typed out for one of them. I'm terrible at getting to sit down and type patterns and instructions...lol would sooner be sat at my graphs designing!

BRAIDS
Knitted instructions refer to the attached photo, starting from the top down.
SHELL BRAID
Knitted in medium yarn at tension 5.Bring seven needles into working position and counting from the right push to NWP needles 3 and 5.Cast on by e-wrap and knit about 4 rows *Push center needle no 4 to UWP and set machine for hold, knit 8 rows, push needle 4 back to WP and knit 2 rows* Knit required length and srtrip of machine.
Tip: use a claw weight, this knits better with good weight.
To be continued.
